One of googles problems (from a users point of view) is commercialisation. If you can buy higher ratings then the system is open to abuse - and therefore fails. Try searching for something invented and you'll find sites listed that want to sell it to you! TOO MUCH NOISE! The only way round it I can see is if searching becomes part of the internet. One way I can see it happening is if we can set up 'public' search engines - it will need a small 'internet tax' (~£1 per user per year?) to pay for a search engine service that is managed by the users for the users. That way you stick your meta tags in and ask to be indexed. DCLUG could probably provide a small search on this format for members? ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
