It seems cancelling payments taken from a credit card is more difficult. I used AOL about 8 or 9 years ago and found it impossible to cancel the CC debit. I succeeded in the end..... closed the credit card account and got one with a different bank :-) JamesAaron Trevena wrote:On 22/01/06, Colin James <colin.james@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:AOL lol I am still trying to cancel my account with them from a year ago. Says it doesn't exist still taking money though! Then run, don't walk, to your bank and make them stop the payments. Seriously - you should already have got your bank to sort this out. I do this pretty much every time I stop a payment, I go to the bank and require them to cancel it in front of me -- never any problem. The direct debit garuntee isn't worth the paper it's printed on regards, A.It's usually on CC as opposed to DD.. personally i refuse to give out CC info these days for recurring charges... DD's are much better, and I prefer SO's even more... -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
