Windows can be rather inconsistent if it wants to use C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME% or C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%.%DOMAIN% Also it will first look for a prototype profile in \\%LOGONSERVER%\netlogon\Default User then in C:\Documents and Settings\Default User. The former being better documented in the Samba Docs than in the MS Docs.
