[LUG] Thunderbird Compacting Folders

Hi,

Anyone know how to change the settings for when Thunderbird compacts
folders?  I've looked on the web and the menu options suggested on the
Thunderbird help pages don't exist on mine.

I'm using v 1.0, which appears to have been modified as the Start Page
calls it Debian Thunderbird.
