Guys My domain is registered with UKReg and points to my Fasthosts website. I have a static IP for my broadband connection and would like to publish a public DNS entry of (say) www2.mydomain.co.uk for that IP. I currently have set up a subdomain for www2.mydomain.co.uk and in the www2 directory on my public website (that the subdomain points to), I have created an html file that redirects to my broadband IP and so connects users to my local HTML services. This workaround only works for browsers however and not for SFTP/SHH. It only works for connecting to the root of my local web server too, a connection to http://www2.mydomain.co.uk/~mart fails (I guess because I don't have a corresponding directory with redirection file on my Fasthosts webserver). I have an open ticket with Fasthosts currently to see if I can add an extra DNS entry but I don't think that service is available to me. My local server is Mandrake running Apache, Subversion and SFTP/SHH but the Fasthosts server is IIS. Are there any magic trick I can perform to get what I need?
