Hmm, my new style Linksys (the shiny silver, rather than the rugged looking box with coloured plastic bits) is working a charm. My boss has been through two of the older sort I believe, always seemed to be associated with thunderstorms, perhaps it is phone lines not the boxes? Suspicious, but I've heard of people having trouble with other Wireless Access routers, so I think we should perhaps be a bit more rigorous before cursing Cisco. Still I'm wondering, has anyone tried surge protectors for between BT equipment and their ADSL router, and did it cause any issues? Dedicated surge protectors seem a tad pricey, but some build network and ADSL protection into a multigang extension lead. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
