2MB down 256 up is pretty standard. Demon recently in line with BT 
upgraded all their customers to 2Mb (or as high as the line would allow) 
i only got 1 :-(

Some companies are offering higher download speeds but i am sure this is 
very area restricted or via cable or somthing. If you want higher upload 
speeds the money gets *crazy* from what I have seen in the past.

I've had no problems with demon at all. My speed is very good and i have 
no complaints. Maybe people are being bitten by the 50:1 contention in 
some areas?
