So, I remember seeing something about this on the list recently, but a search on the archives produced a long list of nothing obviously what I'm looking for. Could anyone post a reminder of where the Linux Laptop suppliers are?
Laptops generally don't come with GNU/Linux pre-installed. There are precious few suppliers who even understand Linux. The vast majority of laptops will have Windows and a lot still have noticeable problems with Windows-specific hardware. Typically, suspend to disk won't work and the internal modem is pot luck. http://www.dcglug.org.uk/wiki/?id=documentation link to linux on laptops at the bottom of the page. http://www.dcglug.org.uk/wiki/index.php?id=index Various reviews of installing GNU/Linux on laptops that were originally sold with Windows - the Redmond Tax. When I wanted a laptop, I went for a Mac - it's not the same but it's better than Windows. -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.dcglug.org.uk/ http://www.nosoftwarepatents.com/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/isbnsearch/ http://www.neil.williamsleesmill.me.uk/ http://www.biglumber.com/x/web?qs=0x8801094A28BCB3E3
