[LUG] List usage guidelines
Hi all new and existing member, it's time for a few list usage guidelines
once again!
Please remember this is one to many communication. Currently, there are
156 addresses subscribed to the list, so be aware that any mail you send
will be read by this many people. If you take the time to check your mail
for readability etc it will save the other 155 people time reading your
mail. So please refrain from mails where the entire content is "lol" or
"me too".
Please trim the amount of other peoples mail you include in your replies
to that which is appropriate to your message, this makes it much clearer
to everyone else what you are refering to.
Unless you're happy with your personal details appearing on the website,
don't send them over the list. This list is archived -
http://dclug.org.uk/archive/
If you've not seen it before have a quick read of the Nettiquite RFC,
particularly the User Guidelines section:
http://www.cybernothing.org/cno/docs/rfc1855.html#3
Although there are a couple of guidelines there that are not appropriate
to this list, particularly reading the list for one or two months before
you post and making sure you have an email signature.
Thanks,
Alex.
