What would you guys recommend as the OS of choice for a live production web server assuming not Red Hat 9. The other choices here are Fedora Core 2 or SUSE 9.0??Debian. Without a doubt.
Seconded, Debian stands head and shoulders above most of the rest, we use it for our Linux Hosting Environments at work, and it is rock solid, whether it be woody or Sarge[1]. We are in the process of moving all of our servers to Sarge, as we are finding we are needing some of the functionality available in Sarge, and we have been able to rely on it for some pretty mission critical stuff our clients are using.
