Hi All My home directory on my fedora box has gone read only. The file permissions indicate that I read and write permission but when I try and create a file I get an error saying: Read-only file system. I've never had this problem before! How do I fix it?
Is /home the only directory on that disk partition? I suspect the first thing you should do is back up the data in your ~ asap, and run fsck on that partition, it might be you harddrive going bad, or just having too many errors. Otherwise it might just be a problem in /etc/fstab or a permissions issue, better to be safe than sorry though, eh? - -- James jamesk[at]homeric[dot]co[dot]uk "If only God would give me some clear sign!
