If you want to use broadband for running public services, bear in mind that the upload speed you will get from BT (or who-ever) is your users download speed, so don't post huge files for download, or you will get swamped, and you won't be able to use the net on your local machines.
Also beware of your ISP's Acceptable Use Policy. Some do not allow an open web server to be used with their accounts, mainly of course those who only cater for home users as your bandwidth usage will be well above what they cater for per user. Some do allow "servers" to be run, but if in doubt ask them specifically for their definition of a server. Mileage *will* vary :) Kind regards, Julian -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
