Hi All Funny this since I have just written re Broadband. But I have a friend who using Win XP and bought a D-Link router/modem etc. but he can't configure it. It won't dial out. Trouble is he is running the windows firewall and some McAfree virus programme. Does he need to stop these running? Any ideas? Thanks Rich
Could it also be that the WinXP "firewall" software is preventing him accessing the modem/router's configuration interface? I am guessing that it should normally present a web-based frontend. If the modem/router has firewalling capabilities, might it be worth stopping the XP firewall all-together? --Grant -- Artificial intelligence is no match for nuratal stidutipy. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
