Can anyone tell me if XFree86 4.4 is in Sarge or if there is an easy way for me to find out?
XFree86 4.4 isn't in anything worth running, due to the obnoxious advertising clause in the new license. Most things are running either the 4.3 codebase from just before the new license came in, or the Xorg Xserver that was forked from XFree86 at that point. The easy way to find out what is current in sarge (or sid or whatever) is to go to http://packages.debian.org and search by package name, it'll give you all the details you'll want. - -- James jamesk[at]homeric[dot]co[dot]uk "...Ah.
