tomorrow.  BTW tartarus is the name of my home network (I started off
with drive names like Hades and Ares on Windows), so I put tartarus as
my local domain.  Was I wrong to do that?  I thought the format
"localhost.localdomain" meant I could specify natalie as the localhost
(dot) tartarus as the localdomain.

BTW in a console now I get prompts like:

[root@xxxxxxx root]#

That suggests to me something has gone right :)
