[LUG] Cornish Meeting: Goonhilly visit Saturday 20th

I promised this but had been way too busy to organise it much in advance.

Let's visit Goonhilly Satellite station this Saturday!

http://www.goonhilly.bt.com/

The visitors centre is open 10 to 5, they do tours as needed.

Having consulted the oracle (Google), and the nice people at Goonhilly,
we aren't big enough to be a group (20+), so an individual charge
applies (5 GBP to the waged, discounts exist for students, OAPs,
youngsters, families, and people who print discount vouchers from the
website!).

My plan is to leave Exeter about 10AM saturday, and head for "The Old Inn" in Mullion for lunch.

Make a leisurely return to Goonhilly satellite station for about 14:30

Why visit Goonhilly?

To say you've been ;)

It is the largest satellite earth station in the world, and it has a
pretty good visitor center which is REALLY great for small children, and
the young at heart. Think mini science museum.

They do tours on a demand basis about once an hour where they explain
what it is for, the history of the various antennas and such like.

I'm happy to drive (Seats for 3 from Exeter) - but if the weather is
like this - anyone got a convertible or air conditioning????
