Articles titled: Linux and open source software come of age 6 myths about Linux LAMP starts to share the limelight Engineering a change - plugging gaps in the skills market Can they fix it? yes they can. Thanks, Adrian, it's a very good article but when was it written? I only ask because they have a large ad claiming: SCO GROWS YOUR BUSINESS WITH LINUX SCO Linux - the Linux solution with professional support. ... ask companies like Abbey National, Argos and Halfords, all of whom rely on SCO systems ... The pages quote April 2003. Interestingly, the text quotes SCO as having a "long track record of supporting companies that bought UNIX software for use in mission-critical applications such as retail point-of-sale systems .. for companies like Abbey National, Dixons and Halfords." Unix, not Linux as SCO themselves claim in their own advert. OpenForum Europe exists to "broaden the market for Linux and open source software in business and the private sector ... Non-evangelical and business oriented, ... focused on securing unbiased hard evidence on the opportunities from Linux and OSS. OFE has been supported by it's members, particularly HP, IBM, SCO, Sun and SUSE Linux in the production of this supplement" It's going to be hard to use such a well-written and useful document now that the SCO worm has turned. SCO is all over the text as well as in the ads. -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.codehelp.co.uk/ http://www.dclug.org.uk/ http://www.isbn.org.uk/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/isbnsearch/ http://www.biglumber.com/x/web?qs=0x8801094A28BCB3E3
