To introduce myself, I've just joined this list and the LUG and I'm one of the lead developers on the Rosegarden project (http://www.rosegardenmusic.com) and fresh from showing it at LUDEX the other week and at the Glastonbury LUG last night.
Hi Richard, Neil W will have some questions for you about MIDI then. So you were the one at AFFS conference last year doing the Linux audio framework talk? In which case you are probably just the person to answer Neil's questions....
I was wondering what happens on this list and if there are any meetings planned in the South West?
For some definition of planned - we hope to have a meeting about software patents shortly - I thought we needed something to liven it up a bit - how about some electronic music ?
The SWLUG itself seems to be in statis or something - anyone know what's happening there?
We merged the mailing lists - but they have an independent web site - very pretty and informative last time I looked. Some of the SWLUG members seem to be busy over here.... http://www.sttechnology.co.uk/ ... so a few are probably engrossed in making a living. Not heard from the rest for a while, but I'm sure they will pop up and say hello.
I'm actually based in Taunton - but that's close enough to Devon to count I hope..
I guess having merged with SWLUG we have no choice but to welcome Northeners in ? ;)
