-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, Does anyone have any experience of such backup programs as taper and amanda for backing up to tape? My current backup goes somethings like this: - - FIles are stored on my server which amongst other things serves /home over nfs. - - Tape backup of /home using a simple script and afio at 4am every night that I put a tape in (at least once a week). - - tar.gz backup of /home to my workstation's backup partition at tea time every day. I'm going to start running out of tape capacity for a full backup in the near future. I have a DDS3 drive at 12Gb native capacity and don't really want to upgrade this so I'm searching for some software that will sort out incremental backups for me that can run un-attended. I'll do a full backup say every month when it's convenient for me to swap tapes. I'm very paranoid about backups at the moment, due to coming towards the end of a large dissertation project totalling about 1.2Gb of files. Any opinions on software would be gratefully received. I'm looking for the simplest solution that will give me full and incremental backups with verification.
