I know what you mean now, I just don't know how it would work in practice. When I recommend STTechnology to people, there's a financial contract involved if they choose to contact Rick or Neil S. etc., and the trust in them is underwritten by the company. The client is paying for their administrative prowess and the company has a duty of care to make reasonable efforts to perform the task(s). Usually the 'protection' of a group vs an individual is down to the ability to SUE the group for more money than an individual. Won't work with DCLUG! (That's why free software comes with no warranty.) If something goes wrong, what are we to do? Throw the rogue off the list? I can't help feeling that trust like this needs to be personal. DCLUG can act as introducer and as a reference but I don't know what else can be done. - -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.codehelp.co.uk/ http://www.dclug.org.uk/ http://www.isbn.org.uk/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/isbnsearch/ http://www.biglumber.com/x/web?qs=0x8801094A28BCB3E3 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAcaytiAEJSii8s+MRAmwiAKCI448j5E9eD8T3BVsdirX+EPCGGQCeIdti zKXnf8z0H7M1kjIJrv2Asnc= =VLaq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
