Darren is correct Paul. I had the identical error log on my SuSE 8.2 Personal until I read the installation procedure outlined in SuSE's support database ie. Nvidia->/installation of NVIDIA Drivers Version 4349 or higher. If you've updated the kernel don't forget to update the source. I had updated to an Athlon kernel and forgot to update the source. The kernel source rpm is on the SuSE 8.2 CDs and is installable using YOU. For updated/Athlon kernels the source is available from the update section of SuSE's site. In my case I downloaded the Athlon source rpm with Konqueror and used the browser's YOU option to install it. By the way you might also have to use Sax2 to re-enable 3D acceleration. Once the kernel source was installed found the new driver installation a doddle in comparison with the old method.
