Has anyone come across a decent open implementation of DCE RPC for Linux? Portmapper is the linux implmentation of the RPC protocol deamon. Often portscanners refer to it as SunRPC. > Having demonstrated NFS at the meeting, should I now be thinking of using > Samba instead (so that portmapper doesn't have to be started)? For unix/linux -> unix/linux NFS is your best bet by far in my opinion, although you do sometimes get issues with differing implmentations, but these tend to be fairly well documented. Just like samba, you don't want NFS/RPC pointing at the internet. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe. ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star Internet.
