KDE 3 is in unstable, given the various huge dependencies I suggest you go to unstable if you want KDE 3. Unstable is surprisingly solid in my experience, yes you see more bugs but the serious ones are soon fixed. I saw more problems from dragging in a few "out of mainstream" packages into a Debian box, than I ever saw from being in unstable, as getting into Debian unstable usually means the dependencies are vaguely consistent with other packages in Debian. Broadband would be good to borrow. If you have the disk space, Debian reference tells you how you can run unstable on stable in a chroot environment, but I don't have the disk space. > I'm surprised KDE3 hasn't made it into the 'testing' version yet, as it's been > in Mandrake for several releases now. Perhaps this should tell you something! KDE 3.2 looks interesting, but it is a big shift from KDE 3.1.3 in the PIMs section. What do you want KDE 3 for? For me the only compelling update I saw is Kmail, and Mozilla seems to do nearly everything Kmail does and more, although Kmail is a tad quicker I think. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE/P9BkGFXfHI9FVgYRAqEcAJ9Z6BhfNzp0I6ueUPVwsMcSaKBgCwCeN2eN 4Qd2X9mA6oE+JoIShz/beBA= =cJar -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
