Hmm to get past the detect QT step of configure..... I needed libqt-mt-dev instead of libqt-dev GCC3.2 introduced C102 C++ ABI, these are the default in unstable. All Debian apps link with the threaded QT libraries even those written not to, as this is faster and more general purposed than having two versions of the same library in memory. Despite suggestions elsewhere libqt3-dev appears to be obselete, and not the prefered library, so why it is in unstable I have no idea. You may also want to ensure the compiler is the right version; export CC=gcc-3.2 export CXX=g++-3.2 And QTDIR should be set; export QTDIR=/usr/share/qt3 And then I got configure to go slightly further... no idea if it is enough to build this small application I wanted. Simon, wondering they should have just dumped "SID" and built a new Debian using 3.2 and QT3 and KDE3 stuff, and ignored earlier stuff, sometimes a revolution is the efficient solution to problems with evolutionary change. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: Free Software is nice iD8DBQE/K8ULGFXfHI9FVgYRAnVHAJ9Dk9VQbeFOSCl83Ov5JxbahPdxRQCglSK4 wAA9xWzvNuYUROw8Ae/j6tQ= =P+vu -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
