BT ADSL is now available in the Tavistock area (at last!). Having spoken to quite a few ISP's and describing my requirements, in general they suggest that I should go for a 20:1 contention ratio service rather than the basic 50:1. This is of course largely sales pitch, but I do suspect there is some truth in it considering that many parts of Europe offer a basic package with a 5:1 ratio. In terms of the current pricing scheme for ADSL, it is cheaper to have two phone lines and a 50:1 service on both of them rather than a single 20:1 service. This of course has the added benefit of providing me with a second telephone number for office/fax use. I was wondering if anyone else had considered this alternative, and if so how they would go about balancing load across two Internet connections?
