Also always worth checking what firmware revision you have PRI and STA, usually output when the card is brought up, but I think cardctl will tell you as well. Suggest dragging it up to the latest that Buffalo support just to eliminate any known firmware issues. > This sytem is: > Red Hat 7.3 > wireless-tools-23-2 > kernel-pcmcia-cs-3.1.27-18 My Redhat 7.0 system I eventually just hardwired the "iwconfig" for encryption into /etc/init.d/pcmcia. Debian worked fine out of the box in this respect ;) I found Redhat 8 worked a lot smoother with wireless cards. I took my 7 box to PCMCIA-CS 3.2 (I'm sure I had my reasons), but I think you should be fine. The wireless tools stuff is quite good at complaining if versions of other stuff are too old. Is it using the Orinoco driver at this point in time? Oh if I'm missing any letters, my keyboard just died, and the spare is feeling it's age. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE+w1BXGFXfHI9FVgYRAtw+AJ4hyROhHEKGVV6FYlq/qiyIdCdhEQCghIVv 9uJcNWaBXqiNsvR6gx9tJAo= =oeVe -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
