Hi all, I know there are some Debianites out there so I help someone can help me... After using linux for a couple of years now, I thought I'd see what that fuss was about with Debian. I'm using the "sarge" (testing) net-inst boot CD and trying to install over broadband (ie. ethernet) onto my new laptop. However, I'm a bit stuck, as it doesn't appear to have loaded PCMCIA support and hence can't find my network card. Despite being a no-name (CNet), it came with linux drivers and I know it to be automagically linux compatible. The online Debian manual claims that there is an "optional" question for loading/configuring PCMCIA support: http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/ch-install-system.en.html#s-configure-pcmcia Great, but how the hell do I get there? I've only got as far as stage two, "Detect netwokr hardware...". I tried stage 9 ("detect hardware") and stage 18 ("install the kernel") but to no avail :-( Tell me how to fix it before tommorow or I'll install Mandrake 9.1 on it :-P Jonn -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
