Alas he was a troubled person, in an intolerant society, I fear society has changed less than some people like to think. The so-called 'Turing test' on the other hand is totally flawed, and boils down to "I'll know it when I see it", which in my experience isn't always the case with intelligence. The goal posts for strong AI are very moveable, anything we claim requires intelligence is suddenly better done by rote rule following when the computers start beating us at it. The moral from the AI story is agree the specification upfront, and charge for enhancements ;-) Simon -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE+m8BfGFXfHI9FVgYRAnGIAJ9T9a/Q1zJ3fk9dWkFfJIgpGDn4cACgv+LZ AbhaatPYJ6Y/jfQ4FrJ1+1w= =vp1w -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
