On Friday 14 February 2003 10:33 pm, Simon Waters scribbled: > My main concern on the "Stop the war protest" is no one has > arranged a meeting for those of us who think a war to oust > Saddam Hussein is many years too late and should happen ASAP. 500,000 people say "dont attack". 58,500,000 dont. Public opinion polls say that most people dont want a war without UN backing. Public opinion polls say that most people do want a war with UN backing. Seems to me that the people that would change their mind lack the moral fibre to say "yes" or to say "no", without the UN telling them what to do. Facts have been presented, if you want to protest, great. If you dont, great. Dont wait for someone (the Mirror, the Mail, the Government, the U.S, the U.N.) to tell you what to think. Freedom of thought one of the few freedoms we truely have left. Along with freedom to peacfully congregate and protest. Sadly Iraqi's dont have that freedom. > Whatever happens you can bet the poor Kurds will get the worst > of it, as they have since the days of the Ottoman empire. I still remember a game of "history of the world", where I took the ottoman empire to north america using a viking longboat :) -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
