Hi Rick, Just some thoughts, I'm not a networking guru and I know very little about Smoothwall. - Is the smoothwall box listenning on the configured admin port 80, 443, 81? - Is this a remote access problem, can you access the admin port from the console (lynx, telnet) - Try the IP and port explicitly ie http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:pp to take your name resolution out of the loop - If can't gain access and want to reinstall, diable/reset the admin password via the appropriate jumper on the motherboard Justin Rick Timmis wrote:
Hi List I am having trouble here today, we had a power cut over the weekend and our servers went down. I have rebooted the Smoothwall server, but cannot get remote access to it through the web browser, it comes back with Access Denied. I have not had any trouble with it before, but I just can't get in I have tried from several network machines. I can log in at the consile under root, but can't figure out where the access controls are. I am Hunting round the Smoothwall site as you read this. I did think about reinstalling, but the second hand machine I am running it on has got an Admin password set on the Bios so I can't change the boot sequence to get it to boot from CD ROM.
