Hi I've downloaded all the relevant files for KDE3.0.3 but the QT libs need to be updated from 3.0.3 to 3.0.5. Problem is qt3-3.0.5-28.i386.rpm needs qt3-non-mt-3.05.i386.rpm and visa-versa because the QT 3.0.3 libs were installed with SuSE 8.0.
Have you tried installing BOTH with the same command? I did this with RedHat using the package manager to select the two RPM's and installing together. It is also possible to do this on the command line.
Do I need to delete the old QT libs and install the new ones? ie Switch off X, remove old qt libs, do
I didn't have to on RH. KDE2 kept on running until I logged out. Worked fine after that.
Incidentally has anyone experienced any backward compatibility problems with QT3-3.0.5? I seem to recollect seeing a report somewhere or other.
Only with a test QT program - it wouldn't compile under KDE3 but that was probably bad code on my part.
