-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I want to reduce the size of the windows partition and merge that 1Gb with the root partition of RH7.2 Output is now: Disk geometry for /dev/hda: 0.000-5729.062 megabytes Disk label type: msdos Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags 1 0.031 1027.595 primary FAT boot, lba 2 1027.595 1090.349 primary ext3 3 2094.412 5475.278 primary ext3 4 5475.278 5726.293 extended 5 5475.309 5726.293 logical linux-swap So how do I use the space between 1090 and 2094? parted resize 3 1091 2093 fails to accomplish anything, it just returns without errors. parted move 3 1091 5475 complains about copying over itself. (same as 1091 to 4475) mkpart foobar ext2 1091 2093 complains no matter what type is inserted. (Too many primaries, extended: overlapping partition) What now? At present, looks like I'll have to wait until I upgrade RH with a clean install. By which time, I probably won't need Windows on this machine anyways. - -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.codehelp.co.uk/ http://www.dclug.org.uk/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE9rH0bk7DVr6iX/QIRAtLBAJ4mwQ5hEiXg0MdqndkN+bmVPtjjqgCfWztd VmG1KW7Vy0SbcLk+QibfvQY= =CyIq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
