I'm thinking of investing in power things. A few questions
1) Why do I need an 8 way surge protected power stip when I could get a 4 way 
and plug a normal non-surge 8 way into that?
2) Are there any minor UPSes that protect against brownouts, maybe upto 1 or 2 
seconds. All I see are expensive 10 minute solutions. I rarely have a 
blackout of that length.
