I'm delighted to hear that Eurobell's up and running on broadband. I'm still waiting a call from them, having shown an interest on their website.
Ring them up and book an install date
As I currently have just a single desktop machine I would appreciate advise on network cards best suited to the task. Eurobell offer to supply one for 10 pounds.
Any network card that has a utp port on it. £10 isnt too bad, cheapest ones I've seen are about £8. Al it basically is is a dhcp connection, and they need your MAC address to register you.
They also mention that they will not install on a Linux box but do admitt it will work.
I think it does, at least I assume so, as I'm posting from my laptop right now with a rather nice windowmaker background.
As eurobell offer off-peak no charge calls between their phone users could a cable modem user connect to another eurobell phone and then act as a mini ISP to the other user?
If you can set up a dial up server, yes, just enable ip masqurading between eth0 and ppp0, and get the other user to dial you.
