OK, so I've just convinced the school I'm starting teaching Maths at to "go opensource". I've also become sysadmin, which is kinda cool.
Splendid!
There is a seriously beefy server and a load of old pentiums, so I'm thinking xdm sessions.
Are those seriously old pentiums? Unless they're really too feeble for desktop use (eg < 32Mb RAM), you could perfectly well run real apps on them, just so long as you steer clear of certain heavyweight modern desktop environments.
I seem to remember someone was a bit of a terminal server man round here and I was wondering of there was a standard linux config for just turning a box into an xdm client.
Can't help you there, though someone else already posted a suggestion. -- Nick Kew -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
