Study the makefile. It should be nice and readable.
would normally just roll over and goto Rpmfind but it would be nice to just once compile a program. Any idea's (the first person to mention a certain potatoey item gets it!).
There is nothing lost in apt-get install nano(<shudder>or using a rpm package</shudder). That is the sensible way! Gone are the days where I manually compile stuff.
