Firstly, There was a short thread recently about using Linux as a desktop system. My experience seemed pertinent to that debate.
Ok, I agree I was a little harsh, but I still feel that your post was hardly a contribution to a debate.
Secondly, over the last couple of years I have seen some wonderful support given to Linux ignorami like myself by this group. I thought that was part of the spirit of all things Linux.
Yes, of course. But from my viewpoint I see a lot of "bitching" with no or little solutions. Opensource is all about contributions from peeps like ourselves. All to often I see people moaning about the poor something or other of "linux". Firstly it isn't linux to blame. And if you do not like what you see submit a bug report or better still a patch to the right project and lets improve things! It is bad press and demoralizing for the people who give away their valuable time for end users to moan and come up with stuff why they hate a hardly related project!! We need to give back to the projects we take from. Then we can expect to see improvements. -Kai -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
