Anyone remember the command to wipe a disk? I'm sure it was mentioned on this list a while ago but I can't remember what it was. I've looked through /sbin and /usr/sbin, and checked the archives (for 'wiping a disk') but can't see anything familiar.
Many thanks to those that replied. I wasn't really thinking of using /dev/random or whatever but it will do the job - I don't need mega serious wiping. However, I really though there was some simple linux command to do it. It's bugging me a bit now where I saw it! I read the item and then tried the man page on a machine, I thought it was my work pc, may have been a sun, but either way I can't find the command or remember it. Oh well.
