Hi all,
I am after a good (free) web development application, similar to dreamweaver. Can anyone suggest such a beast and also where to get it !
I've never seen dreamweaver, but I am in the progress of putting together a web site for the guest house I am about to buy (see previous thread - good business software). Two days ago I only knew that 'html' was a file format used to write web pages, now I have somewhere near a completed web site www.andyrlweir.demon.co.uk I used the tutorials on www.demon.net ->products ->web hosting ->homepages I started using a text editor to write my html, and a browser to preview (thats a pretty platform independant development environment) I am now using 'quanta' just so that I can navigate around the different files easily, but 'screem', and 'bluefish' seem to do pretty much the same for the most part, I just cut and pasted the tutorial examples, then hacked my own data into the slots so I didn't feel the need of a WYSIWYG editor I hope this is of some help. ps: if any html wizzards want to send comments on my html please feel free it works on mozzila, opra, konqueror, IE, and even lynx, but I've not done any reading on compliance yet. cheers --Andy Weir------------------------------------------------------------- | Electrical & Electronics Engineer Work: andy.weir@xxxxxxxxxx | | AMIEE IEE Membership No. 8266908 Play: andy.weir@xxxxxxx | | (http://www.iee.org.uk) | | _----_ | | Linux / \ | | Registered User #272048 _o_/ \ | | (http://counter.li.org) / \ /\ | | /| @ \_________________| | Say no to software patents! _____|_\@@ | | (http://petition.eurolinux.org) @@@ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
