Sage line 50 perhaps?
Unimpeachable.
Horrible (I'm told)
Understood by accountants.
Available fo Linux.

GNUCash looks nice but it doesn't look to me like an accounting system for a 
business, yet.

You can do a lot with a spreadsheet - Star/OpenOffice maybe?
Or GNUMeric?
