I am not up to date on this license thing.

I know that MS are changing the way their licencing works.  But I am not
sure in what way,  i think it has something to do with upgrading via
subscription, can someone please give me a brief outline.

I get the impression they are trying to force people to adopt their
software, and go 100% Windows rather than dual Windows / Unix - Linux is
this right,  The dead line has something to do with pricing before a certain
date it's going to be cheap after that more expensive.
