Anyone master all that Jabber stuff yet? Thought I'd brave some if it as Kicq is painful to use.... I've started with the PERL client Jarl - hmm... I also started with the server charente.de which might have been a mistake - est is alles im Deutsch - vorsprung durch Instant Messaging and all that.
When I was doing some work for Weft (in Scotland), we used jabber to communicate. Gabber declined to install for me, so I used Jarl. It seemed OK, though rather primitive, and was much better later on during the time I used it.
Where do I find Jabber conference group names, or is this another Jarl failing? What JID do I use for a IRC chat "????@irc.charente.de" ?
Not sure, we only had one channel. Just a brief reply to confirm that I found Jarl to be perfectly usable. -- Nick Kew Available for contract work - Programming, Unix, Networking, Markup, etc. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
