[LUG] Conditional cron

I am trying to utilize fron to upload an html file every 10 minutes.. i 
got that bit working just fine, but i only want it to do part of the cron 
if it can contact a particular host.

I really should get in to these if, while statements shouldn't i.. i am 
just not a programmer.... (i just can't get my head around it)
