I think the problem is that windows tries to do everything for you wheather you want it to or not to attract the technically challanged of us. Probably one of the reasons i started to use linux. Also most non-linux user have no other experience other than windows, like driving a car with manual transmission when you learn't with an automatic. I use linux just as an alternative operating system but I did have go back to the absolute basics and start again. I shan't be going back especially now as XP is the standard. Can I reccomend the book "Linux for Windows users", by Babani Computer books. I bought mine from PC World for £6.99 (the ISBN is 0-85934-470-3) for any 'casual users' it helped me. cheers, Jody Dunstan. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
