Dear all, First of all, sorry about the mass spam. If you have no interest in Linux, then you can safely delete this message. This is an invitation to all students at Exeter who have an interest in Linux to a meeting in the M&D room on Friday the 18th of January at 13:00. The meeting is primarily to see how many of you who would be interested in joining a Student Linux User Group (or SLUG), and what you'd like the SLUG to be. Whether you've only just heard of the wonderful operating system called Linux (or GNU/Linux - whatever tickles your fancy), or you're a seasoned kernel hacker working on porting Linux to some obscure RISC processor (how's that going, Ade?), you are all welcome. Hopefully there will be all kinds of different people using Linux for all kinds of different things, with much to share. A few free goodies should be available at the meeting. This includes a limited number of SuSE Linux Professional boxes (the nice expensive version), kindly donated by SuSE. There's also a possibility of a representative from RedHat coming along with a bunch of freebies as well. A few guys from IT Services may be there as well. I've promised to return them in good condition, so be nice to them. Again, the meeting is in the M&D Room at 13:00 on Friday the 18th. If you know anyone else who might be interested, then drag them along as well. The more the merrier!
