> NTFS also can't be defragmented, although it doesn't fragment as badly as > FAT under w98. I defragment my NT4, NTFS machines regularly using config.exe from Sysinternals, and a batch file. There are read only drivers for NTFS for Linux, but I have not installed them, I blatted my laptop when it arrived, and installed SuSE and then Win 2000 from scratch, with each OS on a partition of a filesystem of its choice, and a big shared FAT 16 partition for data. /home is on ext2fs. Here I have ReiserFS and like it. -- From one of the Linux desktops of Dr Adrian Midgley http://www.defoam.net/ -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
