[LUG] grub

I am trying to create grub on a floppy disc using Mandrake 8.0 With all the 
following I get 'device not recognised' yet fd0 exists in /dev
$./grub-install '(fd0)'
$./grub-install fd0
$./grub-install /dev/fd0

Any suggestions please?
