I put your comments to the person who told me about multitasking / multithreading he replied :- "As far as linux is conerned it's a toy. Unix is a different matter, Unix is multi threaded but does not multitask like os/2. in fact OS/2 is still about 10-20 years ahead with object orientated multitasking. eg if linux or unix had a program that crashed badly the whole system freezes.
