Why is it that Distribution vendors just arbiatarily remove software just when I need to use it. Take getty_ps, which I hapenned to need. This is perhaps the best getty for serial terminal (i.e. non-modem) use and is *very* easy to set up (just add entry to /etc/inittab, init q, et voilla). Does RH7.1 include it? Does it hell! Fortunately I managed to find the RedHat 7.0 copy of it. And if I hadn't been able to find that then I'm sure I would have come across the source sooner or later (oddly enough, not on freshmeat). So having got getty_ps, I now have a PPP connection at 115200 bps from my palmpilot to my linux box :-) Combine that with Top Gun SSH and the world is my oyster...or something. J.
