I've only come across this since installing Mandrake 7.2 on the laptop (see the review on the lug site), affecting the touchpad. Two comments: 1. It ONLY happens when I start Linux without powering off after running Windows ME. Sounds like Windows is altering the behaviour of the touchpad and not removing the alterations on shutdown. (No suprise there then.) Powering off resets the touchpad to default, whereupon all works sweetly in Linux. If I simply restart from Windows and choose Linux from GRUB, the touchpad goes totally loopy. The pointer ends up in the top right corner and any touch on the pad sends it flying across the screen before snapping back to top right. Interestingly, I cannot shutdown Linux once this happens - using Tab I can 'press' the Shutdown button on the logon screen, but I cannot get the confirmation window to receive focus! All keyboard input still goes to the logon window. 2. If I plug an external PS/2 mouse into the laptop, all is sorted! I can just move the external mouse to confirm that motion is back to normal and unplug it. Touchpad works properly again. (And continues to do so until Windows gets in the way again.)
